The 21st Century Violence Prevention Movement!
The 21st Century Violence Prevention Movement!
The Peace Plan© was developed for the counties of Cobb, Clayton, DeKalb, Douglas, Fulton, and Gwinnett. It provides a roadmap for collaboration and implementation of violence prevention strategies and the identification of evidence-based or innovative programs. The Peace Plan©, which includes the key role of youth, identifies violence prevention solutions that can become models for creating safe places to live. The goal of the Peace Plan© is to present the best of what is nationally known in community violence prevention and the best of what Atlanta's service providers and communities are contributing, recognizing that there are multiple paths to the same destination.
Peace collaborative members, the Champions for Peace Task Force, are addressing the growing incidences of violence through updating the Peace Plan© with 10-point strategies. Task Force activities include strategy focused sessions with community residents and organizations, and academic, civic, and corporate representatives.
The Expected Outcome: A well-coordinated strategic framework that supports evidence-based and innovative violence prevention activities that serve as a model for Georgia and the nation!

The Working Norms commit partners to respect, transparency, teamwork collaboration, strategic planning, and principle-centered leadership! They also commit partners to embrace the impact of evidence-based and innovative practices in all initiative activities.
The Working Norms are incorporated into all services to facilitate the success of customer outcomes. They continue to guide our work as we work toward our mission to "Create a Culture of Peace in Metropolitan Atlanta!"
